RI Authors Showcase - Meet Mari Dias
Welcome to the Rhode Island Authors Showcase! Each day in November, this blog will feature a different Rhode Island author. Read the post and leave a comment and you are eligible to win this day’s giveaway!

Dr. Mari Dias would like you to know that her first name is pronounced "Mary"- the alternative spelling is a result of an identity crisis in third grade. She is a mortician's daughter who is often referred to as "the grief whisperer," as well as a death doula and a Thanatologist (specialist in death and dying). She learned to read on her father's lap by phonetically sounding out words in the obituaries. She believes in signs, life after death, and life before life. She is always humbled to be by the bedside, or spooning a dying client. A death is much like birth.
Mari holds certifications in both grief and complicated grief, and is director of GracePointe Grief Center in Rhode Island, which she shares with her pet therapy mini bernedoodle named Mercy.
She is the author of GriefSpeak, a compilation of her client's stories shared in the safe space of her office. Each of the stories is a gift.
