RI Authors Showcase and Giveaway! Meet Emily Tallman
Each day this month, meet a Rhode Island author! Comment on this blog post for a chance to win our Grand Prize (a $200 Amazon gift card) or our Bonus Prize (a $100 Amazon gift card). Some authors are giving away books, too - your comment enters you into their drawing as well. (See details at the bottom of this page)
In her Monsters Within series, Emily Tallman explores the darkness associated with mental illness. Her books take a researched and realistic look at different mental illnesses and show that those who suffer from them can live to be the heroes of their own stories.
Life in the Shadows - A troubled and grieving Livia Moss battles the everyday struggle of functioning with depression and anxiety before the unimaginable happens.
Is she going crazy or is there actually such a thing as ghosts? Enjoy the first installment of the Monsters Within series.
Caught in a Lie - Jaeli knows what it means to lie. She knows the things it can cause. Pain. Loneliness. Danger. But if it means sacrificing her new found friends and happiness, she can’t bring herself to tell the truth.
When the lies put the life of an innocent man at risk, can she change in time to save him? Will anyone be left to listen?
Emily has generously offered to gift each of these two books to one lucky winner. Your comment on this blog post enters you into the drawing, as well as the drawing for our Grand Prize and Bonus Prize.
*****
Emily, a Rhode Island native, has wanted to be a storyteller since hearing her first bedtime fairytale. She asked for a word processor for Christmas at age four and has kept her promise to Santa by writing every day since.
Her first set of books has been set in motion with the Monsters Within Series. Through this series, Emily hopes to make mental illness a more readily accessible topic.
She writes characters with mental illness as heroes with the goal that more people will see themselves as worthwhile individuals and no longer just horror movie villains. Emily’s love of the supernatural, science fiction, and fantasy will surely be explored in later works of fiction, romance, and children’s books.
Her short story "Lost Soul" appears in ARIA's anthology Hope (2020). You can find all of ARIA's anthologies at Stillwater Books in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. https://www.stillwaterbooksri.com/
