Wolves

People often ask me why I write about werewolves. The answer is simple.

Wolves rule.

Did you know wolves can roam up to 12 miles in a single day? Or that wolves help feed other animals in the ecosystem by leaving remains of their kills?*

So if real wolves are this awesome, then fictional wolves who are also humans have to be even better, right?

That’s what I think anyway. I’ve loved werewolves since watching Teen Wolf. And I don’t mean that newish TV show. I mean that 1985, Michael J. Fox, teenager-turned-werewolf, how-can-I-become-popular-and-get-the-prettiest-girl-in-school-to-notice-me movie.

Something about werewolves is regal. When I add six-pack abs and a desire to have a happily ever after with their soul mates, werewolves become sexy. That makes for a steamy read that will keep you howling into the wee hours of the night.

The Warrior Wolves Series follows five Celtic warriors who have a little extra… They get banished from Ireland of the past and tossed into modern-day Vermont when they anger Flidae, the goddess of wild things. If they want to get back home, they need to do something worthy, but falling in love might change their definition of home.

Wolf Kiss, Book One, is where the story begins. I’ll be signing this book and others at the 6th Annual Rhode Island Author Expo at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet on December 1, 2018. Come see me. My wolves and I would love to add you to our pack! Can’t make it to Rhode Island? No problem. Hang out with me on Facebook in my reader group, Small Town Hearts.

Christine DePetrillo

Christine DePetrillo writes because if she didn’t she’d look weird acting out all the scenes that come to her. Writing is a way to make those scenes exist somewhere and keep her from becoming a social outcast.

A Story of Undying Love

“SAND DOLLAR is one of those rare books that makes you feel, laugh and cry all at the same time. This smashing debut by Sebastian Cole reads like the best of Nicholas Sparks.”

– Jon Land, USA Today bestselling author of The Tenth Circle

******

Noah Hartman has it all, or so it seems. Groomed since childhood to inherit the family fortune and business empire, the effect of living the life set down for him by controlling parents has left Noah out of touch with his inner self. Enter Robin, who — in direct contrast to Noah — is a vivacious, free spirit with no material possessions to speak of. Robin’s love saves Noah by inspiring him to stand up to his parents and reclaim his true identity at all costs. But Robin harbors a secret that could devastate their lives forever. Is it enough for two soul mates to find each other, or are the forces that would tear them apart too great to overcome?

Many years later, Noah lies in a hospital bed recounting his life of love and loss, only to discover a far greater truth about the past, present, and future. And the one certainty that remains unchanged in Noah’s heart — true love never dies.

Looking for the next great love story? Look no further: read Sand Dollar: A Story of Undying Love.

Sebastian Cole never intended to be a writer. He graduated from Brown University in the 80s, then worked briefly in New York before returning to Rhode Island to work in his family’s business. Nineteen years later, he took a leap of faith and left the company to pursue his dream, writing a debut novel emotionally inspired by his own personal life experiences. Sebastian Cole writes from the heart, believing in true love, love at first sight, and finding that one person in life you’re meant to be with. Many have compared him to one of his favorite authors, Nicholas Sparks, whom Cole cites as an inspiration. Whether or not he ever achieves that kind of success, touching the lives of others through his writing has been the single most gratifying thing he has ever done.

Visit Sebastian’s website for more information about where to purchase his book and where you can follow him on social media.

You can WIN a copy of this book! Just leave a comment below. One winner will be chosen at random and the author will contact you directly. Contest ends one week after publication.

Meet Author Nan Reinhardt

Author Nan Reinhardt

For the final installment in my summer series of (some of) My Favorite Authors, say hello to Nan Reinhardt. Nan and I connected after I read her debut novel, Rule Number One. Loved it, love her! Nan writes “grown-up love stories,” proving that we’re never too old for romance. 🙂

Hey Nan, welcome to my blog, and thanks for finishing out the summer with this feature! Of course, I have a few questions for you. First off, I’m going to ask you to cast ONCE MORE FROM THE TOP, your featured novel (and the book that you’re giving away at the end of this post):

NB: I’ve always seen Kimberly Williams Paisley in the role of Carrie Halligan. Jeff Bridges, 30 years ago, has always been my Liam Reilly. Yes, I know I’m showing my age, but hey, I’m going to be 61 next month and he’s still a hunk in my opinion. Besides, these books are geared to Baby Boomers–we all know Jeff Bridges is hot, right? Cameron Monaghan would be a good choice for their son, Jack. And I think perhaps Heather Locklear would do a good job as Carrie’s best friend, Julie Miles, who gets her own story in Book 2.

I can see that! Good choices, especially Heather Locklear – she’s perfect for Julie! So, Nan, tell us about the research you do for your novels.

NB: I use the Internet a lot when I research, but I made a trip to the Traverse City area when I wrote Once More from the Top – the setting for Willow Bay. The area around Interlochen Center for the Arts, where Jack goes to school, is one of my favorite parts of the country. Lake Michigan is where my heart is and so setting the stories in an imaginary town on the coast of the big lake. For book 3, I had to contact some experts about sunken treasure and salvage, and the folks I found to consult were helpful and excited to be helping me research.

Speaking of works-in-progress, tell us what’s new with your writing.

NB: I just finished Book 3 in the series and I’m starting Book 4 – another different kind of story about Sarah Everett, whom I introduced in Book 2. Her story is a little bit more intense as she is an abuse survivor. We’ll see where she takes me!

oncemore

Nan Reinhardt is giving away a copy of Once More from the Top (ebook), the fabulous first book in The Women of Willow Bay series.

Carrie Halligan never regretted the choice she made sixteen years ago to raise her son Jack by herself in Willow Bay, Michigan. A successful photographer by day, at night Carrie satisfies her musical passions by playing piano at a hotel bar, maintaining a balance that works for her and Jack. Walking away from Maestro Liam Reilly without telling him she was pregnant with his child may have been the hardest thing she’d ever done, but it was definitely the right thing.
When Liam shows up in town to perform a benefit concert with the local symphony, however, Carrie’s carefully crafted life spins out of control. After sending Jack to summer camp, she realizes she can’t keep Liam in the dark forever. Telling the truth to the man she once loved more than life itself isn’t near as hard as spending time in his presence and realizing that the years haven’t diminished his power over her heart. Will her lie be too much to get past, or will the spark of passion between them overcome everything?

Don’t forget, everyone who has entered ANY of the Rafflecopter contests for ANY or ALL of the featured authors is eligible to be (randomly) selected for one final prize, which will be announced next week, when this Rafflecopter drawing closes. Good luck!
