Ancient legends tell us that for one hour on Christmas Eve, animals are given the gift of speech. If we could have heard the animals on that very first Christmas Eve, what do you think they would have said?
From the discovery of something in Cow’s hay, to the realization of what–or who– it is, Bethlehem Barn is a light-hearted, fun retelling of that very first Christmas from the animals’ point of view.
Deb is giving away a copy of Bethlehem Barn to one lucky winner. Just comment on this blog post and you’re entered!
Join us on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 11, from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the CROWNE PLAZA in Warwick for the 9th Annual Rhode Island Authors Expo!
Debra, I’d love to know what the animals said on Christmas eve. Your book sounds delightful.

I would love if my cats could talk. I would know if they were in pain.

What a fun book to read . My grandson and husband would have this conversation about what his dog would be saying now. If we could hear them. I talk to the dog all the time. 😊

Thank you, Alicia. I love the cover too! I love all of the illustrations, actually! The artist is amazing. He’s illustrated lots of children’s books, including Bible stories and children’s Bibles.

I have heard of this legend. It doesn’t surprise me that one of God’s great creations, the animals, can speak. Just another one of his great miracles. Thank you for your contribution.

This sounds like a wonderful book! What age children is it aimed for?

Hi Elizabeth! Thank you for asking. It’s categorized as 4-8 years, but I’ve had positive reviews from some older children, and I don’t think a child is ever too young to be read to! (By the way, I’ve heard your name many times before; I believe we have a mutual friend. I hope to meet you in person at the Author’s Expo!).

I hope to meet you at the Expo also, Deb. We can look for each other. Thanks for the info on the ages it is geared for; I have many children in my extensive family, so there are definitely a couple at the right age (and I agree, never too young to be read to).
