Joann Mead has lived in four countries ranging from A to Z: America (USA), London, England (UK), Moscow, Russia (back in the USSR), and Zimbabwe (Africa). She is a writer, educator, and researcher.
In addition to her thrillers and bio-crime novels, Joann writes screenplays, short stories, and magazine articles. Her short story “Married in Moscow” is a 1980 memoir of a most unusual wedding and a most unusual Englishman. It was selected for inclusion in the 2020 ARIA anthology Hope.

Joann’s debut novel, Underlying Crimes, is set in a tiny New England state known for its culture of corruption. The story connects the upperworld of Allbio biotechnology to the criminal underworld of corrupt politicians and crooked cops.
In Tiger Tiger, a beautiful, sexy researcher and her mysterious lover manipulate each other, in more ways than one. For Mei, it is the money. For both, it is the sex. And for Kahliy, it is his burning desire to wreak revenge on America.
Joann’s most recent novel is Designer Baby. A most wanted bioterrorist creates deadly bioweapons and designs super-human babies. She’s a DNA hacker who manipulates and mutates and changes like a chameleon. Everyone wants to find her, especially the men she has scammed.

I”ve been around for the beginning of JoAnn’s journey into bio-crimes, cringing with the reality and possibiities that she explores in all her three books…The authenticity displayed comes from her own scientific knowledge and work, and for this we must give her books the respect they truly deserve.
