Paula (PK) Norton draws on her thirty years in the insurance business, as well as other real-life experiences and passions, in her series The Amy Lynch Investigations. Paula’s love for Key West and Paris, and her interests in archaeology, fencing, and spies (she is a card-carrying member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers) add an extra layer of interest and authenticity to her books.

Does the past ever really leave us? Not in Amy Lynch’s world.
What starts out to be a well-deserved vacation for Amy – volunteering at an archaeological dig on the outskirts of Paris – turns ugly when the head archaeologist is found dead at the dig-site. A recently uncovered relic from World War II threatens to expose treachery and betrayal from the time of the German Occupation. It endangers the life of anybody bold enough to delve into its significance.
New England Casualty and Indemnity, the insurance company where Amy works as a claims investigator, is insuring the dig. Amy’s world turns upside-down as she reverts from vacation mode to conduct a full-blown investigation. She meets with obstacles, resistance and threats to her own safety – as well as an adorable Frech detective – in her quest to unmask a traitor.
Paula is giving away a copy of Dead Drop to one lucky winner. Just leave a comment on this blog post telling us where your favorite vacation destination is.
Join us on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 11, from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the CROWNE PLAZA in Warwick for the 9th Annual Rhode Island Authors Expo!
I am not the world traveler – yet. I have visited places only within the states – New York, Florida, Pennsylvania, and all the New England States except for Vermont. We have not vacationed in the past 10 years. Our rescue dog has separation anxiety, so it day trips for me. I’m okay with it since we have many beautiful places to visit around the New England area. Your book sounds interesting. I love a good mystery!

My favorite vacation is going to dance weeks or weekends. I dance morning, afternoon, and night with people who are also passionate about dancing.

Martha,
You really are to be commended. This Author’s Showcase is a wonderful way to generate visibility for the Association, the writers and the Expo. So thank you.
It’s also an excellent PR schtick for you, so from an old PR pro, a tip of the hat to you as well!

My favorite vacation spot is ANYWHERE that isn’t North Providence, RI. I’m particularly partial to the warmer climates.

This looks really good. I love the coast; so, a close trip would be to the Northern California coast. My mother is from Boar’s Hill, England. I would love to see her hometown.

My dream is to travel. My husband and I fulfilled one of the places we wanted to see when we visited the Grand Canyon a few years ago. It was breathtaking. Your books sounds quite intriguing and is a place I would love to visit!

I have always wanted to visit Paris. I want to put a lock on The Pont des Arts that is most famous for being the Lock Bridge in Paris. Visitors to the bridge attach personalized padlocks to its railing and throw the keys away in the Seine River. (Audrey Stewart)

Egypt, without a doubt. My best vacation ever included the pyramids, a cruise down the Nile, Abu Simbel, and the Valley of the Kings. Your book sounds fascinating, Paula, and I’m looking forward to reading it. Based on your background, we may have a lot in common; I’ll look for you at the Expo.

Paris as well, I’ve visited twice. I tuned up my broken French prior to my last visit. I took a fencing course in high school, but I prefer a parade sword for recreation.

I have to name two: Paris and New Orleans. I hope to return to both.
In the meantime, I wouldn’t mind going to Paris via “Dead Drop.”

I have not done any world traveling. But we have a camp on Lake Gaston, in NC. Where are making great family memories. Playing in the boat and anchoring to play in the water is just the best.

Paula, congrats on combining insurance and spying, with some romance tossed into the mix. My kind of book! I can’t possibly choose between the following vacation spots – Wolfeboro, NH; Portland, ME; the Outer Banks; and Sarasota, FL.

My favorite spot is Disney World, but I’ve only been there one time. Normally, I choose to do a staycation, where I stay in my house and visit nearby places. My favorite nearby place is Roger Williams Park Zoo.

Paris is and will forever be our vacation spot of the world. It has everything you could ever imagine in a vacation spot, charm, history, museums, I could go on for quite a while. Your novel sounds like a perfect read on a cold winter night in New England. So, if I don’t win a copy, I just may buy one anyway. Hope to meet you soon at an ARIA event.
