Lorrie Manosh is a children’s author, wife, and mother of four children. She has over 20 years of experience in education and has taught children from kindergarten through college. She has served as teacher, principal, professor, and online teacher to children in China.
Sad, happy, fearful, excited, and angry feelings in children come and go throughout the day, but do they know how to talk about or manage them? Using imagery that children can relate to, this book serves as a tool to open dialogue between children and adults about emotions and the part they play in affecting one’s moods and reactions. Through the help of his mom, Matt discovers his “feeling closet” and learns how choice gives him the power to change his day. A book written for varying ages, it includes talking points and activities to help children begin the journey of improving their emotional intelligence.
One reader said, “This book should sit on every parent’s go-to shelf. Dealing with feelings at a young age is confusing and emotional. The Feeling Closet provides the perfect solution.”
Lorrie is giving away a copy of The Feeling Closet to one lucky winner. This would be a terrific book for parents and even grandparents. Just leave a comment below or answer this question: What is your favorite color?
Join us on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 11, from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the CROWNE PLAZA in Warwick for the 9th Annual Rhode Island Authors Expo!

Helping children is a treasure and I am excited to share this book to help children of ALL ages better understand and manage feelings. I have a second book coming out in the near future that discusses how our imperfections are treasured! Blue – like the ocean – beautiful!

Hi Lorrie, very nice to meet you. Your book sounds like a very good read and it sounds like a Must read for children, a Must read for parents to read to their children and a Must read for grandparents to read to their grandchildren. I love the book cover. I am a mother of 2 adult children with little families of their own. I have 3 grandchildren. Thank you for being an educator for little ones. I volunteered for 5 years as a reading mentor for 2nd and 3rd grade children , and I volunteered as a catechist for 1st,2nd and 3rd graders for over 25 years and I am still a catechist for my granddaughter and grandson who live in our same town. It is so rewarding helping children. God Bless you for doing this. My favorite color is Blue. Have a great weekend and stay safe.

Oh how I wish I had this book when my son was a child! He is Autistic, and still struggles daily with his emotions. He also has sensory problems with the feel of his clothes and I think your book could really help. If you haven’t already, you might want to consider how your book could help those on the Autism Spectrum. Even though my son is an adult now, I still hope I win your book! Good luck!

My daughter is a teacher at a Head Start program and is always looking for exciting ideas like your book is offering! I would love to share it with her! Since falling in love with Monarch butterflies I am loving the colors of their black and deep vibrant orange wings!

My favorite color happens to be the one I’m wearing that day, but I lean toward things that are blue. My wife reminds me that my morning selection from the closet would come out much nicer if I turned the light on. Who would have thought!! Hope to meet you at an upcoming book signing soon.
