For a Peaches and Cream Complexion, Try Olive Oil and Carrots

What? I know, it sounds crazy. But bear with me on this one.

There are a ton of products out there, and each of us has our own routine. I’ve used DHC Deep Cleansing Oil for years as a way to get the dirt, grime, and makeup off my face at the end of the day. It’s not the olive oil in your cupboard!

One other product I’m nuts about these days is from Burt’s Bees. This is a great company, started in Maine by a beekeeper and an artist. They have a ton of excellent products, all available at local retailers or online. I’m a big fan of their beeswax lip balm, but last fall I discovered their Carrot Nutritive Day Cream. It has beta carotene and carrot seed oil, and yes, the scent does remind me of carrot cake (so I use it a lot).

It’s never too early (or too late) to start taking care of your skin. I was not compensated for any of this – just something to share!

Now, back to revising my work-in-progress 🙂

  1. Burt’s Bees, what a wonderful name 🙂 and frankly anything that smells of carrot cake gets my vote! I’ve recently bought a new pot of face cream, nothing really fancy just plain old L’Oreal but according to the advertisements, ‘I’m worth it’. Anyway whether I’m worth it or not remains to be seen but I was a tad depressed reading the back of the box that it came in…I’m now in the senior section, it’s recommended for women aged between 50-70 years. Does that mean that after 70 we don’t have to bother anymore?!

    1. Ha! Lottie, maybe it means that at 70, it won’t matter (yikes). I do like this Burt’s Bees stuff because of what’s in it, or rather what’s not it. My fair skin (that has seen its share of sun damage) seems to benefit from this. 🙂
